Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of placement, literally meaning Wind and Water, or the flow and containment of energy. This energy is called Chi. It can be considered the life force present in all things, but also the influence that things have on life forces. This practice has been used for over 3000 years in China, and is widely recognized by the Chinese as a source of power for their ancient empire, and the economic vitality of Hong Kong and Shanghai today.
Feng Shui uses the shape of the land and the layout of buildings to manage the flow of Chi. It is used to make a home, business or garden work better for people by allowing the proper flow of good Chi, balancing Yin and Yang with the Five Elements (fire, earth, metal, water and wood). This is Forms School Feng Shui.
Specific techniques are also used, such as Flying Stars, or astrology of the building. This takes into account both time and compass orientation to find the best areas of a building for Feng Shui enhancements, using the Five Elements. Some enhancements are traditional, such as water fountains or wind chimes, but Interior Eyes never uses any enhancement that does not suit the style and architecture of the client. This is Compass School Feng Shui.
Feng Shui in Asia also has another strong component not used widely in the West. These are the various forms of Chinese Astrology. Four Pillars of Destiny, 9 Star Ki and Ming Gua can be used to find a persons best elements, colors, and times of challenge or support, as well as general personality information. We can use it to plan specific activities, or directions for travel and building expansion. We can find your best personal directions for sleeping and working!
Feng Shui can be used to enhance specific areas of our lives, for better harmony, prosperity, health and relationships. With the proper intent, these changes can manifest themselves in your lives through your space!
